Dementia Risk Reduction

“Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.”
- CHINESE PROVERB

In 2015, I was attending a Lifestyle Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada, when I had the privilege to hear Dr. Dale Bredeson give a lecture on Alzheimer’s dementia, providing MRI evidence of Alzheimer’s dementia related changes being reversed.

To me, learning about this uber-detailed program represented one of those sentinel moments where you remember where you are and how you feel when you are exposed to something greater than yourself. I knew that despite the great patient experiences I had up to that point, understanding and applying this program would become a personal and professional goal.

Since then, I have completed the rigorous Reversing Cognitive Decline (ReCODE) course through the Institute of Functional Medicine to become a credentialed ReCODE healthcare provider.

The program is applied to ultimately serve as a proactive method to, hopefully and potentially, reduce the likelihood of ever developing the disease; however, it is also amazingly successful in reversing mild to moderate dementia and cognitive decline.

The success lies in applying a programmatic approach, which goes against conventional monotherapeutic and standard treatment protocols. The team at Melville Medicine is educated on the entire systems-based protocols and can serve to guide patients through this Intentional lifestyle overhaul and treatment strategy with unparalleled support and accountability.

“Alzheimer’s disease can be prevented, and in many cases its associated cognitive decline can be reversed.”
